The Challenge
As Procurement specialist you operate as a partner for your local clients and offer them Professional Support in Procurement by applying a good understanding of what needs to be done to manage and deliver the organisational change required. Your main responsibilities will be the implementation of key Regional and Global Procurement strategies for the Seeds business unit. You will oversee the creation of internal and external Procurement networks covering locations in both the Netherlands and other European locations. You ensure that regulated Policies, Procedures and Best Practice strategies can be delivered. Furthermore you develop new ways of improving efficiencies through the utilisation of new Tools and Processes.

The buying role will be based in Enkhuizen but be expected to cover various sub-categories at a regional level. This may involve representing up to 5 or 6 individual sites. The role will require interaction with site and functional personnel and leading cross functional country sourcing teams. The role will also require strong implementation skills as the job holder will be expected to implement relevant global / regional or country sourcing strategies on their site.

In this role you will support, help define and drive the implementation of the purchasing strategy for Seeds business unit by building a strong client and internal purchasing network in order to raise Purchasing knowledge and awareness and educate clients in the effective use of purchasing tools, techniques and processes.

Your Profile
For this buyer role we are looking for somebody who has a good knowledge of purchasing systems and an ability to understand internal customer requirements. You are able to handle detailed information, analyze and pull out critical issues. You have strong negotiation, contract management, implementation and IS skills. Finally, you have several years of experience of working in a procurement role.

You can demonstrate considerable success in Indirect Procurement and have managed spend in excess of 10 million Euro, with demonstrable savings achievements. You have comprehensive experience of sourcing tools and systems and have good IT knowledge in areas of Change, delivery, systems and process change (including SAP, E Procurement, Purchasing Cards) Your education is at an academic/university level or at a vocational (HBO) level with additional specific procurement training. You have excellent language skills, English and Dutch are required, with preferably an additional European language, e.g. German. You are willing to travel within the Netherlands and internationally approximately 25% of your time.
